FAQ

    What is pet first aid?

Pet First Aid is the immediate care given to sick or injured pets. Having the appropriate skills and tools will significantly increase the chances of
survival and reduce the extent of injury to your pet, before transporting them to your veterinarian. It can also mean the difference between life
    and death to your pet.

Why do I need to learn pet first aid?

Whether you go hiking, swimming, take a car ride, doggy park (can be used as a verb for the regulars), or leave the pet at home, emergencies
happen to all! From the dog park fight, the trail walking snake bite to the stay at home choking on a cookie event, we want to make sure you can
respond appropriately to prevent an emergency situation from turning into a crisis!
The skills and procedures you will learn here are emergency skills. Once the situation has been addressed, only a licensed veterinarian can
determine if more care is needed. These procedures will allow you to safely get your pet to a veterinary office.

Why did it take you so long to start offering the classes?

We want you to have a Wag’N experience. Our goal is to provide the best, all encompassing, most energetic and memorable pet first aid &
emergency preparedness class in the country! We wanted to make sure you get the most for your time and money. Although this topic is
extremely serious, we wanted to get the appropriate instructor that will get you off your seat, energized and focused for a four hour period!
Good instructors are easy to find. Greatness takes a bit longer, but we know we have it now!

If my pet is hurt, I'll just take it to the vet. Why do I need to know pet first aid?

We urge you to bring your pet to the vet! Please make sure you always keep your veterinarian's contact information in your wallet, cell phone
or in the car. When you travel out of town with your pet, check for veterinarians along your route and location and contact information at your
destination. However, think about the likely delay in reaching a veterinarian and you can see why it's important to at least stabilize your pet if
it has a serious injury, just as ambulance paramedics stabilize a person before transporting them to a hospital. This can be especially important if
a pet is injured by a car or while you are away from home.
