What You Need To Add To This Evacuation Kit:
* Your Well Fed Mayday Pet First Aid Kit includes a triangular bandage that may allow you to make a temporary muzzle. You know your pet best. If you feel it may become aggressive and agitated during such times when handled by strangers – add a muzzle. You may consider adding a designated towel to restrain your bird if it becomes agitated and aggressive during the confusion.
* Add your own pet food - 7 day supply.
* Various types of batteries: AA, AAA, 9V and/or C or D Types Batteries depending on extra flashlights and hand held electronic devices you intend on adding to your kit
* Add 2 or 3 of your pet’s toys and/or comfort blanket and/or some clothing item that smells like you (keep that in Ziploc airtight bag).You pet will need something to do and something familiar during the commotion.
* Add a supply of per-stored drinking water (you know is not polluted). 7 day supply per pet. Remember that under stress some pets tend to drink more. That also applies when the temperatures rise in summer months.
* Paper towels
* Plastic bags & trash bags (for your animal’s waste)
* If your pet is on medication, ask your veterinarian about keeping extra supplies of medication or a copy of the prescription for these medications in your kit.
* Mark your calendar to replace medications before they expire.
* Include a recent photo of your pet. Make sure photo includes markings and an idea of size and weight. We also recommend you include a picture of you and your family members with each pet to strengthen proof of ownership
* A crate. It should be easily accessible and large enough for your pet to stand up and turn around. Since animals may be sheltered in open facilities, make sure there is enough bedding to keep them warm. You should also label the crate with their name, picture, address and microchip number |
