Be Your Pet’s First Responder
‘Purr-fect’ Pet First Aid classes Now Available in Herndon, VA

O2 Mask
Herndon, VA July 9, 2008 -- Whether pet owners/parents take their dogs to the dog park, on an evening or early morning walk on the W&OD trail or to Roosevelt Island or simply around the neighborhood, a wide range of dangers can affect pets. Anything from the chicken bones found in the grassy area in the neighborhood, the snake bite on the trail, the escape artist getting hit by a car, the dog park disagreement to the devoured balcony cactus, pets can sometimes find innovative ways to get in trouble. Pet owners/parents are left with trying to figure out whether or not to take the pet to the veterinary office and/or what to do to stop the bleeding or get the dog breathing while on the way there.

Wag’N Enterprises, LLC, a dedicated pet emergency management company located in Herndon, VA, is now announcing the launch of its long awaited Pet First Aid classes. The company is providing two types of classes. The Wag’N Pet First Class is designed to teach pet owners/parents the skills to help keep their pets safe. The O2 Fur Life Workshops are designed to teach first responders not only how to use the Pet Oxygen Masks - now available across Fairfax County and Arlington County - but it also provides them with the basics of pet first aid to help them care for animals in distress at an emergency scene.

Wag’N Enterprises’ goal is to make pet owners/parents aware of the potential dangers and provide them with the skills and tools to mitigate, prepare for and respond to their pet’s emergencies. To achieve that goal the company has taken what it calls the “fun and trendy approach” to get ensure increased responsiveness from pet owners/parents.

Hiring the ‘purr-fect’ instructor to meet the company’s expectations for a “Wag’N Experience” required some extra attention. Ines de Pablo, Owner and CEO of Wag’N Enterprises said that “The objective was to hire a certified pet first instructor with an outstanding teaching experience that can purvey the skills in manner that will elicit more student hands-on involvement. We believe that an exciting and insightful instructor can get the message across in a more compelling manner than a 3 hour video. We truly want our students to get out of this class knowing the subject matter and have a Wag’N experience acquiring the skills. To that end we hire the best”. The company found those values and skills with Ms. Pamela Ahart.

The company hired Pamela Ahart, a certified Pet Tech™ Pet First Aid Instructor to teach the Wag’N Pet First Aid Classes. “Her teaching methods and long standing experience with pets make her the ‘purr-fect’ candidate to meet customer expectations” de Pablo said. The O2 Fur Life Workshops are provided to first responders by Ines de Pablo, founder of Wag’ N Enterprises. Wag’N reminds pet owners/parents to NOT bring their pets to class. Pet First Aid mannequins are provided!

The Wag’N Pet First Aid classes start in June 2008. Classes are provided at the Bark’N Bubbles facility in Herndon, VA.
